Once you are ready to join, we will need some paperwork:
You can drop the paperwork off at any of our meetings! Your scout will be placed into a patrol(a small group of scouts) with other new scouts. Their patrol leader will make sure they learn everything there is to know about our troop.
To ensure our scouts are able to advance and enjoy troop activities, we strongly encourage parents to get involved at our events. This can be as simple as offering to drive scouts to/from an event or even participating in a troop event. Parents who wish to volunteer at any BSA events must complete the Youth Protection Training course every 2 years. For overnight campouts, you need to complete "Mandated Reporter Training" and provide "Livescan Fingerprinting" to be AB506 compliant. You will also need to register with the troop as a Commitee Member. More information is available here.
The troop treasurer maintains an account for each scout. We deduct expenses for each event a scout participates in from the Scout Account. This avoids the need to collect money at every event. Parents periodically deposit money into their scout's account via payments to the troop treasurer. Checks are made out to "BSA Troop 132" and can be dropped off at troop meetings (see the calendar for meeting dates). Troop. now accepts transfers through Zelle.
